News Details (Posted: May 10, 2008):

Get a PIN for your Library Card

Full Description:

Since January 2, all Pima County Public Library users will be asked to create Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) for checkout, to use a library computer, or to use the library's online resources.

The 4-digit numbers will be chosen by you. Library staff will not be able to see or retrieve your PIN. You will be able to get a PIN at one of the following locations:

* the service desk at your local library
* online when you log in to My Account
* online when you use a library database
* at a self-check machine at your local library

Please choose a PIN that you can remember. Keep it in a safe place separate from your library card.

PINs will:

* provide better protection of your information
* help prevent use of stolen or lost library cards by persons other than the card owner

You can find out more information about new PINs by clicking here.
